MAY 2, USA / MUNICH: Depart from Chicago on your overnight flight to Munich, Germany.

MAY 3, MUNICH / AUGSBURG: Arrival at Munich airport and meet with your tour director. Shortly afterwards, depart
from Munich and head north towards Augsburg. Check in to your hotel and remainder of your day is free to spend at
your leisure. This evening, enjoy welcome dinner in a local pub. (D)

MAY 4, AUGSBURG: Today enjoy a tour of the Brewery Riegele Brau Welt in Augsburg including a beer tasting. Riegele is
another of those breweries that is a claimant for the oldest in Germany with a founding date of 1386. The company
remains family-owned, and is now in the hands of the fifth generation. Riegele is now the leading regional brewery in
the Augsburg area. Afterwards, enjoy an Augsburg City tour to learn about the long history of this city. View Rathaus
(City Hall), Goldener Saal (Golden Hall), Fuggerei, old city of craftsmen, palaces on the Maximilian road, house of Brecht.
Your evening is free in Augsburg. (B)

MAY 5, AUGSBURG / NUREMBERG: After breakfast we continue our journey to Nuremberg. Later today, enjoy a
Nuremberg City Tour. Visit the old part of the city, where you will find most tourist attractions. Visit Nuremberg Castle,
one of the most important medieval imperial palaces. Its privileged vantage point offers incredible views of the city. The
castle has been home to every emperor of the Holy German Empire, between 1050 and 1571. The tour will also visit the
former Nazi Congress. Overnight and dinner in Nuremberg. (B/D)

MAY 6, NUREMBERG / BAMBERG / NUREMBERG: We start the day with a visit to the city of Bamberg, which is famous
for its beer and old town. Bamberg is a town in northern Bavaria, laid out over 7 hills where the Regnitz and Main rivers
meet. Its old town preserves structures from the 11th to 19th centuries including the muraled Altes Rathaus (town hall),
which occupies an island in the Regnitz reached by arched bridges. Enjoy some free time to explore. Later, return to
Nuremberg were your evening is free. (B)

MAY 7, NUREMBERG / KELHEIM / MUNICH: After breakfast, depart from Nuremberg and head back towards Munich. On
our way we will stop at Kehlheim and take a short cruise on the Danube to the Monastery Brewery “Klosterbrauerei
Weltenburg”. The monastery, founded by monks of the Hiberno-Scottish mission in about 620, is held to be the oldest
monasteries in Bavaria, and one of the monastic breweries in the world, having been in operation since 1050.
Afterwards we return to Kehlheim and continue to Munich. Your evening is free. (B)

MAY 8 MUNICH / FÜSSEN / OBERAMMERGAU / MUNICH: We start the day with a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, built
by Ludwig II, the notorious “Mad King“. At midday we travel to Oberammergau, famous for its Passion Play and lovely
crafts. We continue the tour to the Abbey of Ettal. Over 400 years of brewing history awaits you at the Ettal Benedictine
Abbey. Beer brewed by monks – at the Ettal Klosterbrauerei (the Ettal Abbey Brewery), the monks still brew beer using
traditional methods. A tour of the brewery and the attached brewery museum is always a special treat in more than one
respect. Learn about the 400 exciting years of uninterrupted history of production of the brew of hops and malt and
taste a drop or two of the final product. Later, we return to Munich. Your evening is free. (B)

MAY 9, MUNICH: After breakfast we visit the city’s main attractions, concluding the tour at the Marienplatz square with
its famous clock tower. During this tour you will sample Bavarian specialties from the “Viktualienmarkt”. This afternoon,
visit the world famous Hofbräuhaus, one of Munich’s oldest beer halls. This evening, enjoy a traditional Bavarian dinner
including 1 “Maß” (1 Liter) of Beer. (B/D)

MAY 10, MUNICH / DACHAU / ANDECHS: Enjoy breakfast. Afterwards, travel to Dachau to visit Dachau Concentration
Camp Memorial Site. The Concentration Camp was the first of its kind opened in Germany by the Nazi government in
1933, and it served as a model for later concentration camps. The camp is now a memorial to the more than 40,000
people who died and over 200,000 who were imprisoned here during the Nazi regime. The memorial was established in
1965, 20 years after Dachau was liberated by American forces. Afterwards, we travel to the biggest Monastery Brewery
in Germany, “the Monastery of Andechs”. Learn about the history and brewing techniques of its seven varieties of
Andechs Monastery beer. Enjoy a beer tasting after your brewery tour in the “Bräustüberl”, the traditional Bavarian pub.
Afterwards, return to Munich for dinner and overnight. (B/D)

MAY 11 MUNICH / USA: After breakfast, transfer to Munich airport for your return flight back to the US. (B)
