SEPTEMBER 12 – USA / MUNICH: Fly transatlantic overnight from Chicago to Munich, Germany. Dinner is served and in-flight entertainment is provided.

SEPTEMBER 13 – ARRIVE IN MUNICH, GERMANY: Welcome to Germany! After collecting your bags, you will meet with your private tour manager and transfer driver in the arrival hall of Munich Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Munich and check in to your hotel. The remainder of your day is at leisure. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner in a local restaurant. (D)

SEPTEMBER 14 – MUNICH & BEER: Enjoy breakfast in your hotel. Today, enjoy a private Munich and Beer tour with tastings. Bavaria’s and Munich’s close relationship to beer is reflected in many parts in the old town quarter of Munich. Not only the history of the beer and the associated historical places will be brought closer to you but also entertaining, quite interesting anecdotes about beer will be told throughout your tour. Whether at the Augustiner Bräu, in the Schneider Bräu Haus or in the famous Hofbräuhaus, the development of the beer is reflected in all these historical buildings as you are guided through the historic quarter.  Learn the basics of the history of beer brewing, sociability and the purity law of beer since the Middle Ages and the adventurous ingredients in beer production in ancient times and today. Bavaria without beer – unimaginable. Enjoy a typical Bavarian lunch with beer at the world-famous Hofbräuhaus. Afterwards, a visit to the Beer Museum, where the beer brewing equipment of the 18th century is exhibited. Overnight in Munich. (B/L)

SEPTEMBER 15 – EXCURSION TO NEUSCHWANSTEIN: After breakfast in your hotel, depart on an excursion to Neuschwanstein Castle. Germany’s most famous castle, built by Ludwig II, the notorious “mad king“, known for his striking personality and eccentricities. The Bavarian King commissioned the castle between 1869 and 1886, resembling the medieval castles of German knights, in a Romanesque revival style. This castle served as an inspiration to Walt Disney when he built the castle of Sleeping Beauty in Disneyland. Afterwards, make your way to Waakirchen for a brewery tour and tasting at Hoppebräü, including a tasting of 4 beers. Here you will learn everything about Hoppebräu, the history of this beer and how it is made. Hoppebräu is young, dynamic, but still traditional. Afterwards, return to Munich where the remainder of your afternoon and evening are free. (B)

SEPTEMBER 16 – MUNICH / SALZBURG, AUSTRIA: After breakfast, depart from Munich and make your way to Salzburg in Austria. On arrival in Salzburg, enjoy a walking tour with a local English-speaking guide. Salzburg is the fourth largest city in Austria. The city offers the perfect combination of a picturesque mountain setting and a beautifully preserved old town. The historic center is dominated by many church spires, medieval fortresses and the magnificent Hohensalzburg Fortress. The spirit of Mozart still permeates the city. Visit the Mirabell Palace, the famous Getreidegasse, the Cathedral, the Palace and Horse Fountain. Afterwards, check in to your hotel. This evening, enjoy dinner in your hotel. (B/D)

SEPTEMBER 17 – SALZBURG: Enjoy breakfast in your hotel. Salzburg is home to Austria’s oldest breweries and offers a blend of history and beer culture. Today, visit the Stiegl Brewery, Austria’s largest private brewery, for a great tour and tasting experience. The beer museum provides insight into Austria’s beer history. Then it’s on to Augustiner Bräu Kloster Mülln: This monastery brewery, founded by monks, serves beer directly from wooden barrels, offering an old-world experience in a historic setting. Afterwards, return to Salzburg where the remainder of your day is free. (B)

SEPTEMBER 18 – SALZBURG / VIENNA: Enjoy breakfast. Afterwards, depart from Salzburg and start your journey towards Vienna. Along the way, pause in Melk to visit Melk Abbey, one of the most beautiful and largest unified Baroque ensembles in Europe. Its magnificent architecture is known worldwide and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to Austria for dinner and overnight. (B/D)

SEPTEMBER 19 – VIENNA: After breakfast, enjoy a guided walking tour in Vienna. Nestled on the banks of the Danube, Vienna dazzles with its magnificent architecture and rich history. The current capital of Austria and former capital of the Austrian Hungarian Empire, Vienna is one of the great cultural centers of Europe and one of the most romantic cities in the world. Famous for its operas, beautiful Baroque architecture, music, the Prater, the Sugendstil, lovely parks, rich Sachertorte chocolate cake… Composers such as Beethoven, Mozart and Haydn have also left their mark on the city. Visit the Vienna Opera House, the most famous opera house in the world. Afterwards, return to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of your day at leisure in Vienna. Vienna’s craft beer scene has been booming, with breweries like Ottakringer and Bevog Brewery leading the way. During your free time in Vienna, you might like to visit local beer bars such as 1516 Brewing Company and Wieden Bräu. (B)

SEPTEMBER 20 – VIENNA / PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC: After breakfast, depart from Vienna and make your way to Budweis or Ceske Budejovice/Czech Republic. There you will get to know another great producer of Czech beers: Budweiser Budvar. This beer has a strong maltose flavor and a medium bitterness. Golden yellow, it is produced based on saaz, one of the most famous hop varieties in the world. Did you know that the name Budweiser has been in dispute between two companies since 1907, one Czech and one from the US? One to your hotel in Prague for overnight. (B)

SEPTEMBER 21 – PRAGUE: After your breakfast, meet with your local guide and depart on a private guided walking tour of Prague. Prague rivals most European cities in terms of beauty, with its stunning UNESCO ranked Old Town full of cobbled lanes and hidden courtyards that are a paradise for the aimless wanderer. Prague has been nicknamed the “city of a thousand spires” for good reason: as you glance over its 1,100-year-old skyline, you’ll be rewarded with splendid views of lovely domed churches and soaring old towers that combine to make Prague one of the world’s architectural gems. stroll across the Charles Bridge, discover Wenceslas Square, stop by the Old Town Square with its meander the cobblestoned streets and admire the stunning architecture, including the asymmetrical towers of the Church of Lady Tyn — one represents Adam and the other Eve. After your tour, the balance of the day is at leisure. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner. (B/D)

SEPTEMBER 22 – PRAGUE / USA: After breakfast transfer to Prague airport for your return flight home. (B)
