Onwards to the beautiful Georgian city of Bath, often regarded as one of the loveliest cities in all of England. From its beginnings as a Roman camp in the first century AD, Bath developed through troubled centuries to emerge in the 1700′s as a fashionable “spa” resort. Some of England’s best-preserved Georgian architecture is housed here, together with fascinating relics of earlier eras. Check in to your Bath hotel for dinner and overnight. (B/D)

DAY 9 BATH: After breakfast in your hotel you will tour the Roman Baths that were discovered in an excellent state of preservation near to Bath Abbey church and see the magnificent Palladian architecture for which the city is renowned (seen at its best in the Circus and the Royal Crescent). After visiting the Roman Baths, enjoy a short excursion to Lacock which has been described as ‘quintessentially British’ as it resembles a well-preserved village from 18th century Britain. With no TV aerials or overhead cables to spoil the view, Lacock is home to thatched and stone cottages and also half-timbered Tudor black and white buildings. It is therefore not surprising that Lacock has been used for filming and has featured in several Harry Potter films as well as ‘Pride and Prejudice’ and ‘Emma’. Return to Bath in the early afternoon and enjoy the remainder of your day at leisure before a farewell dinner in the hotel. (B/D)

DAY 10 BATH / USA: After breakfast, bid farewell as you transfer to London’s Heathrow Airport, where after check-in you will have plenty of time for your last-minute duty-free shopping. Your flight to the US arrives the same day. Have a safe journey! (B)
