Spend two nights each in four of Europe’s favorite cities. Start in Vienna, where sightseeing includes a visit to imperial Hofburg Palace. Next, in Budapest, view the highlights of this city on the banks of the Danube River. Wind your way across Slovenia to Krakow, and visit the Royal Cathedral. Then via Czestochowa with its “Black Madonna” to Warsaw, the Polish capital. See the sights on a tour, then there’s time for last minute shopping before your vacation ends.

DAY 1 ARRIVE IN VIENNA, AUSTRIA: You will be transferred to your hotel. Later, meet your fellow travelers and Travel Director for a Welcome Dinner with wine. Hotel Name: Hilton Stadtpark / Renaissance  (D)

DAY 2 VIENNA SIGHTSEEING & FREE TIME: On a morning tour with a Local Guide, visit the Hofburg Palace and St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and view Belvedere Palace, Prater Amusement Park, and the UN buildings.

DAY 3 VIENNA / BUDAPEST, HUNGARY: Travel east, crossing into Hungary. On to Budapest, with time to relax before dinner.

DAY 4 BUDAPEST SIGHTSEEING & FREE TIME: Morning sightseeing with a Local Guide includes views of the Royal Palace, and Heroes’ Square, and visits the Fisherman’s Bastion and Matthias Church. The rest of the day is free.

DAY 5 BUDAPEST / KRAKOW, POLAND: Wind through Slovakia, past the Tatras Mountains and into the plains of Poland, arriving in Krakow.

DAY 6 KRAKOW SIGHTSEEING & FREE TIME: Your morning sightseeing with a Local Guide starts with a visit to the Royal Cathedral. Next is a walking tour of the Old Town, where you will see the Renaissance Cloth Hall. The afternoon is free.

DAY 7 KRAKOW / WARSAW: This morning make a somber visit to Auschwitz Concentration Camp. Later, journey to Czestochowa and visit the Yasna Gora Monastery, known for the picture of the “Black Madonna.” In the late afternoon, arrive in Warsaw.

DAY 8 WARSAW SIGHTSEEING & FREE TIME: Your sightseeing tour with a Local Guide includes a drive along the Royal Route from Castle Square to Lazienki Park and Palace. Pass by the Palace of Science and Culture and the Barbican. Continue with a walking tour of the Old Town, the Old Market Square and St. John’s Cathedral. The rest of the day is free.
